Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, reliable Locum Optical Assistant to provide temporary cover at an independent optical practice on the dates above.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within an independent optician's practice, be confident using the Optix practice management system, and be able to provide excellent patient care and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and provide a friendly, professional service.

  • Assist patients with frame selection, offering advice on styles, fit and suitability.

  • Support patients with their eyewear requirements and dispensing queries.

  • Carry out general optical reception and administrative duties.

  • Manage appointments, answer telephone calls and assist with patient enquiries.

  • Use the Optix practice management system confidently and efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure a high standard of customer service.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an Optical Assistant within an independent optical practice.

  • Confident and up to date with using the Optix practice management system.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • A professional, friendly and helpful approach.

  • Ability to work independently and integrate quickly into an existing team.
