Our client is opening a new practice in South East London and is looking to recruit a patient-focused Optometrist to join their growing group of practices.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established optical group that focuses on exceptional customer service, clinical standards and a welcoming experience for every patient.
You will be part of a supportive team, working alongside the directors, who will also be working in clinics on selected days. On other days, you will be responsible for running the clinic independently, allowing you to take ownership of your clinics and build relationships with patients in the local community.
You will be working weekdays and Saturdays.
South East London offers a fantastic mix of vibrant town centres, attractive residential neighbourhoods, historic areas and green open spaces.
The area includes popular locations such as Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley and Peckham, each offering its own character and local attractions. From independent shops, cafés and restaurants to larger shopping centres and riverside destinations, there is plenty to enjoy.
Greenwich is particularly well known for its historic attractions, beautiful parkland and riverside setting, while other parts of South East London offer a lively community atmosphere and a diverse range of local amenities.
They have good transport connections across London, with rail, Underground, DLR, Overground and bus services available across the area, making it accessible for commuters and those travelling from surrounding locations.
The Role – Key Responsibilities

Providing professional advice and recommendations tailored to each patient's individual needs.

Identifying and managing ocular conditions, making appropriate referrals where necessary.

Prescribing spectacles and providing advice on suitable lenses and eyewear.

Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical documentation.

Delivering excellent standards of clinical care and customer service.

Building positive relationships with patients.

Working closely with the directors and wider practice team.

Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the new practice.

Contributing to the development and reputation of the practice within the local community.
The Ideal Candidate

Fully qualified Optometrist registered with the GOC.

Confident carrying out independent clinical examinations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Passionate about delivering excellent patient care and customer service.

Able to work independently while also being a supportive team member.

Professional, approachable and patient-focused.
