Optometrist Part time - Edinburgh

Edinburgh offers an exceptional quality of life, combining its historic character, vibrant city atmosphere and beautiful surrounding countryside. With excellent transport links, a thriving professional community and easy access to outdoor pursuits, it offers an attractive balance for professionals looking for a career and good lifestyle.

We are working with a prestigious independent Optical & Hearing Practice in Edinburgh, who are looking to recruit an experienced Part-Time Optometrist to join their team.

Our client operates within the independent optical sector and is known for placing a strong emphasis on personalised patient care, professional excellence and high-quality service.

As a well-respected group with a central head office, they uphold values of integrity, innovation and community focus. Their commitment to supporting their team creates a positive and collaborative working environment where you can develop your skills, contribute ideas and enjoy a rewarding career.

This is a high-end practice with a strong focus on exceptional patient care, premium products and genuinely personal service.

The practice puts its patients at the heart of everything.

As a result, they offer longer testing and consultation times, allowing you to spend quality time with each patient, understand their individual needs and provide truly personalised clinical advice.

You will play an important role in delivering an outstanding patient experience, from the initial eye examination through to ongoing care and support.

You will be encouraged to use your knowledge and expertise and have the time to provide the level of care you believe your patients deserve.

We are looking for a Part-Time Optometrist who is passionate about delivering excellent clinical care and enjoys building strong, lasting relationships with patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive and detailed eye examinations.

  • Identifying and managing clinical concerns appropriately.

  • Working closely with the wider Optical & Hearing team.

  • Explaining lens options and recommending appropriate solutions.

  • Maintaining accurate patient records and complying with professional and regulatory standards.

  • Supporting the wider practice team with your knowledge and experience.

  • Contributing to the continued development of the practice.

More Than Just a Role

One of the key attractions of this position is the opportunity to become genuinely involved in the practice.

Our client wants their team members to have a voice and play an active part in the ongoing development of the business.

You will be encouraged to contribute ideas, share your experience and help shape how the practice continues to develop.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference, work to a high clinical standard and become an important part of a team.

Experience within an independent or premium optical environment would be advantageous. However, our client is equally interested in Optometrists who demonstrate the right attitude, professionalism and enthusiasm.

Take the Next Step

If you are an Optometrist or Optician looking for your next step and would like to join a practice that puts patients, quality and professional expertise first, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

We look forward to hearing from you and helping you take the next step in your professional journey.
