Optical Assistant - New Romney

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Optical Assistant to join our welcoming practice in New Romney. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has an attention to detail, and thrives in a supportive team environment. Previous optical experience is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.

New Romney is a charming historic market town on the Kent coast, offering a relaxed lifestyle, beautiful surroundings, and a strong community feel.   • Providing outstanding customer service to all patients

  • Booking and managing appointments

  • Pre-screening patients 

  • Assisting with frame and lens selection

  • Dispensing spectacles and fitting glasses

  • Adjustments, repairs, and aftercare services

  • Handling payments and processing orders

  • Supporting the clinical team and maintaining smooth daily practice operations

  • Friendly, approachable, and professional manner

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Reliable, punctual, and well-presented

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • A team player who enjoys working in a patient-focused environment

  • Previous experience in the optical sector

  • Knowledge of frames, lenses, and optical products

  • Experience with patient management systems
