Practice Manager - Chester

Chester, a historic city in Cheshire, is renowned for its picturesque streets, welcoming community, and exceptional quality of life. Famous for its Roman walls and medieval architecture, it blends rich heritage with modern amenities, making it a highly desirable place to live.

With excellent transport links, including direct rail services to Liverpool, Manchester, and Crewe, as well as easy access to the M53 and M56 motorways, Chester is ideally situated for commuters. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong optical background who is passionate about delivering exceptional client care, developing high‑performing teams, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of a busy practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide, mentor, and motivate the practice team to consistently provide exceptional client experiences.

  • Foster team growth through impactful coaching, constructive feedback, and proactive performance management.

  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships.

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the practice

  • Oversee and manage practice rotas

  • Collaborate closely with fellow Practice Managers to ensure appropriate staffing coverage across the wider area.

  • Maintain budgets 

  • Maintain tight stock control, ensuring accuracy and efficient stock management

  • Lead the practice to consistently meet and surpass performance targets

About You

·  Extensive optical knowledge and experience (essential).

·  Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop high-performing teams.

·  Exceptional communication skills, with strengths in active listening and relationship building.

·  Proven capability to drive and implement change successfully.

·  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset.

·  High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

·  Track record of consistently achieving and exceeding performance targets.
